Ely Horticultural Society's Great Autumn Show begins this weekend at Ely's Paradise Centre.

Entries can be accepted up to 9.30am on Saturday, but organisers have asked that people get them in by today if possible.

The show offers 15 sections, ranging from flower and vegetable classes to photographs, handicrafts, home-made produce, wines and flower-arrangers.

Children and young people have special classes, which have grown in popularity in recent years.

The flower sections include exhibits of dahlias, fuchsias, pelargoniums, gladiolus and chrysanthemums, which help to create a dramatic back-drop to other exhibits in the hall.

More than 50 trophies and medals can be won by the competitors and there is also £700 in prize money.

Bulbs for autumn planting, as well as salad and vegetable produce donated by sponsors will also be available.

INFO: Entry forms can be obtained from show co-ordinator Gerald Rolfe, by telephoning 01353 663487.
