The shortlist for Art Reach 2017 - which received 89 "incredibly competitive" entries - has been announced!

The final artists are Ryan Robinson, Daisy Simpson, Ruby Carter, Sebastian Deal, Emily McLeish

Ella Reed, Chloe Coxall, Makenzie Hanslip, Millie Wilson, Eve Henderson, Ili Brooks, Tara Heider, Harry Liptrot, Bella Saul, Megan Plumb, Lucy Marshall, Harry Simpson, Tim White and Imogen Downs.

Sergeant Phil Priestley said: “Our judges have all taken the opportunity to review the excellent work that our local artists have sent in to this year’s event.

“We have had 89 submissions - and they’ve all been of a very high quality. It has been a very difficult collection to judge.

“Each of the artists will be invited to attend our awards ceremony, where the overall winners will be announced and awarded with a certificate signed by chief constable Alec Wood.

“Congratulations to all of those who have been chosen - and we offer our best wishes and sincere gratitude to those who contributed but weren’t chosen.

“The competition has been incredibly competitive this year and we have seen art work that hasn’t progressed that really is full of merit and a great display of local talent.”

The award ceremony will be hosted on Wednesday April 26 at King’s Ely.

Each category winner has the opportunity to win a digital art tablet donated by event sponsor Huion who make digital art tools.

Additional prizes have also been contributed by local art supplier Tindalls and from the office of the Cambridgeshire police and crime commissioner, Councillor Jason Ablewhite.
