SHOPPERS at the Ely branch of Tesco donated more than 800 to the Lisa Barnes Memorial Fund in just two days.
Kind-hearted visitors to the store, on Angel Drove, donated a whopping 839,13 over the course of Friday and Saturday, raising the fund’s total past the 46,000 mark.
Robert Barnes, who launched the fund in October 2010, is aiming to raise 100,000 for The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in Cambridge. He said: “The people of Ely and the surrounding villages never cease to amaze me with there generosity and there good wishes they are so kind.”
