The finest food and drink that Cambridgeshire has to offer was showcased in Parliament last week.

Local MPs Lucy Frazer, Steve Barclay, Shailesh Vara, Jonathan Djanogly, Heidi Allen, Stewart Jackson and Daniel Zeichner welcomed the county’s food and drink experts at the House of Commons on March 8.

A variety of meats, crisps, pies, olive oil and baked goods were on offer, along with a selection of local ales and ciders.

Those who took the trip to the capital included Jonny Fuller of Spinney Abbey Farm in Wicken. Spinney Abbey has been home to the Fuller family since 1892 and is known for its pork, beef, lamb and venison, and recently produced the award-winning ‘Monk & Disorderly’ cider.

SE Cambs MP Lucy Frazer said: “The event was a big success and a great opportunity to showcase some of the riches of our region and raise awareness of just how much local produce the county has to offer.

“It was a pleasure to work in conjunction with all my colleagues in the region to bring this event about.”
