Students from Witchford Village College and Ely Community College joined forces to take part in The BBC School Report day. The day is a national event that gives 11-14 year olds the opportunity to broadcast their own news over the internet and radio, designed by the BBC in order to get children involved with, and to contribute their ideas to the media.

The students worked on a total of four stories which included: women's sport, recording bad behaviour by students, careers day and cannabis use.

The Witchford Village College press club interviewed Sue Dougan who presents the afternoon and gardening shows on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire who said "I think that this is a fantastic opportunity, and I wish it had happened when I was at school." She was also said "it's is a good way to get involved in themedia." Producer, Pam Mungroo described the day as "a fantastic opportunity to build skills such as teamwork.
