AS some of his ex-pupils head off into the gap year sunset, the director of the City of Ely Community College's sixth form is off on his own adventure.
Mark Sirot-Smith has dusted off his DIY skills to build houses for shanty town dwellers in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The project, which starts in November, is the brainchild of charity Habitat for Humanity who uses voluntary labour to help disadvantaged families around the world.
And before he goes, Mr Sirot Smith is hoping to raise enough to give a cash boost to Habitat for Humanity. If you would like to donate online, visit www.habitat.org/cd/gv
