SCENES from the predicted new blockbuster movie Atonement were filmed on the Ouse Washes near Ely.
The film, starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy has been released across the UK and shows sequences filmed on RSPB land selected because it looked like late 1930s rural France.
The two scenes for the movie, based on a novel by Ian McEwan, shot at the Ouse Washes were filmed under a railway bride and looking out from a barn across the open marshes.
Jon Reeves, RSPB Ouse Washes site manager, said: "It was fascinating to see a little of the complications of making a movie on location - enormous efforts for a few seconds on screen. But we didn't get to meet the stars.
