A nine-year-old successfully completed a 1.5km swim in aid of Marie Curie at the Paradise Pool, in Ely, on Sunday.
Scarlett Lomas-Pickering, who attends Sutton Primary School, has so far raised £150 for the charity, which provides support and care for those suffering terminal illness and their families.
The swim was part of the national Swimathon, taking place in 600 swimming pools across the U.K.
Established in 1986, Swimathon is a nationwide swimming challenge that encourages swimmers up and down the UK to swim a variety of challenge distances at their local pool and raise money for charity.
Scarlett said “It was really fun and I enjoyed it”’.
Martin and Andrea, Scarlett’s parents, said: “ We are really proud of her, and for a cause close to our hearts too.”
Scarlett’s Grandfather, John Pickering, was looked after by Marie Curie nurses before his death last year.
