FATHER Christmas is set to arrive in an MG in time for Soham's open-air Christmas fair and late night shopping event on December 14.

He will enter his grotto in St Andrew's Church after an outdoor demonstration by Soham Majorettes along the High Street at 6pm.

Shops in Churchgate and the High Street will stay open until 9pm.

Organiser Bill Rind, from Soham Association of Commerce and Trade, said: "We've even got the Soham fire engine out for the evening. If we have good weather it should be a great evening for families and a chance to support the few businesses we have in Soham.
