RETIRED Soham stable owner Pat Woodman, 62, pictured, is undertaking the challenge of a lifetime, on horseback.
Mrs Woodman suffered a heart attack six years ago but was determined to get fit for her charity trek across the desert terrain of Rajasthan in northern India which starts today (Thursday).
"I'm determined not to waste a minute of my life and spending some of it helping horses is the least I can do," she said.
She will join 30 other riders to travel 120 miles in temperatures of up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit to raise money for Brooke, an international horse and donkey welfare charity.
On the final day, the riders will visit a Brooke sanctuary in India, where trained vets treat animals for free.
