LITTLEPORT'S Rotary's annual Christmas street fayre will get under way tomorrow (Friday). Local entertainers, Father Christmas and a host of voluntary organisations are joining together to kick off the festive season.
Father Christmas is expected to arrive in style at about 7pm in a procession that starts at St George's Church and will include lady Morris dancers from the Ely and Littleport Riot, Lakenheath Brass Band and the Littleport Players.
Father Christmas will then install himself in his grotto in the barber's shop and musical entertainment will commence outside to entertain shoppers, including a demonstration from local majorettes. Stallholders will include the Littleport Society, Littleport Players and Young People Littleport. Festivities will then continue with a Christmas karaoke at the YPL Centre on Granby Street after stallholders have packed up at 9pm.
