The Rotary Club of Ely-Hereward has begun to plant 10,000 corms as part of nationwide initiative Purple4Polio.
The club teamed up with the RHS’s Britain in Bloom community groups to transform public spaces and brighten up the local community by planting purple crocus corms to raise awareness of the campaign.
Hereward Rotary Club members and helpers began planting 10,000 corms under the trees between Castlehythe and Station Road in Ely on Sunday.
To celebrate World Polio Day (today, 24), two club members have planted bulbs in Broad Street and Sutton.
The Friends of Jubilee Gardens will be planting Hereward Rotary supplied bulbs on Wednesday 26.
