THE Rotary Club of Ely met on Friday evening at the Witchford Playing Field Pavilion for its annual President's Dinner. Sue Thompson, who is president this year, welcomed the guests including Rotary presidents from Ely Hereward Club, and Soham Staploe, as well as the president of Inner Wheel of Ely, the president of the Isle of Ely Lions, and Ely mayor Ron Bradney.

After an excellent dinner, Lyndon James kept everyone amused with his legal stories and jokes, and also talked about the English Deaf Rugby Union, of which he is secretary. A donation was made to the EDRU by Sue Thompson on the club's behalf.
