THE proceeds from the Soham Staploe Rotary Club’s real ale and music festival were handed over to Peter Palmer, chairman of the St Andrews swimming pool committee, at the club’s meeting on Wednesday.
The handover took place at the Cherry Tree pub by event organiser Nigel Driver, with cheque for �3,344.63 leaving the committee with just a further �20,000 away from the �150,000 needed for the project.
Mr Palmer told rotary members that he hoped that building would commence this year.
