Christmas collections carried out by Rotarians in Soham helped raise more than £2,500 for an air ambulance charity.
In the run up to Christmas, members of Soham Staploe Rotary Club carried out their annual street collection for Magpas Helemedix at three sites in Soham and two in Fordham.
Collections took place at Asda, the Co-op, and Scampers, in Soham, together with the Co-op and Scotsdales, in Fordham.
Volunteers collected thousands of pounds throughout December and, this week, as the Rotarians held their weekly meeting at the Maid’s Head pub, in Wicken, £2,585.91 was handed over.
Emma Sanders, part of the Magpas fund-raising team, who accepted the cheque, told members that with call-outs costing £600 a time the collection could potentially save four lives.
