MEN are the main culprits for killing and injuring women on Cambridgeshire's roads, a new hard-hitting road safety campaign has revealed.
It shows more women are killed or injured as passengers than drivers, and road safety experts are warning that the majority of these are sitting beside a male driver.
Cambridgeshire County Council's Road Safety Team will be launching a new graphic campaign this week to remind young male drivers to slow down and look after their female passengers.
Speeding is a major factor in many accidents among young people and can lead to higher injury levels in the event of a crash.
The research also suggests that speeding is not the best way to impress a loved one. Recent studies have shown that many people are scared or worried about their partner's driving and the speeds at which they drive.
