THE City of Ely Perspective Group has appointed a new chairman for its riverside group, which looks at ways to improve and maintain the city's historic waterfront.
Bill Burton said the group has reconvened after the summer break and is preparing an action plan for the year ahead.
Mr Burton said: "Our aim is to influence development and improve the riverside and adjoining areas in and around Ely, which form one of the main focal points of our city and are enjoyed by tourists and local people alike.
"There are exciting new challenges ahead to ensure our distinctive heritage is enhanced and maintained for the benefit of all."
