People in Prickwillow defied the chilly temperatures of January and teamed up to renovate one of the village’s most loved landmarks - its phone box.

The former BT kiosk, which was bought for £1 as part of BT’s Adopt A Kiosk scheme which began in 2008, was given a lick of grey paint by a group of hardy villagers on January 14.

Its latest make-over is one of its more modest looks; it has previously been transformed into a giant bauble, Father Christmas’ sleigh, a Christmas present and a community art gallery by local group Ouse Life Drawing Group.

The phone box will not stay grey for long, however; it will be restored to its traditional colour of red “on a warmer day,” one resident said.
