The owners of the new Grand Central Ely restaurant presented the Lisa Barnes Memorial Fund with a cheque for more than £1,000 to celebrate their launch.

The American-style eatery, which was formerly The Boathouse, opened to the public in Annesdale, last Thursday.

To mark the launch, owners Steve and Jo Haslam, who also own The Cutter restaurant and pub, presented charity founder Robert Barnes with a cheque for £1,160.

Robert Barnes, who launched Lisa’s Fund in 2010, said: !I am overwhelmed with the warmth shown here this evening. Jo and Steve have always been very supportive of Lisa’s Fund and have held many fundraisers for us over the years.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the food was out of this world. I wish them all the best with their exciting new venture and would highly recommend their delicious new restaurant.”
