Remembrance and Armistice Day services in East Cambs

At 10am, standards will parade from St Mary’s Green via St Mary’s Street, Minster Place and the Gallery into Ely Cathedral. This will be followed by the Remembrance Service in the cathedral.
Then, at about 11.30am, the standards and cadets will parade from the cathedral via The Gallery, Minster Place, High Street and Market Place for a wreath laying service at the city’s war memorial.
This will be followed at about 12.15pm by the standards and troops parading past the war memorial and up the High Street.
The parade will be supported by The City of Ely Military Band. Appropriate roads will be closed during this period.
A brief service will be held at the war memorial in High Street from 10.45am, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am. This will be followed by wreath laying service. The High Street, from Dolphin Lane, will be closed during this time.
Fall-in starts outside Soham Village College at 2.15pm before a march to the town’s war memorial for a wreath-laying service at about 2.30pm.
Then the parade, headed by the Soham Town Band, will head to St Andrew’s Church for a service at 3pm. When the service is complete, the parade will head to the Walter Gidney Pavilion for tea, by invitation.
The parade starts at 10.20am at the Ex-Serviceman’s Club, in Ponts Hill.
The parade will pass the Nightall memorial before heading to St George’s Church for a service at about 10.45am.
After the service, the parade will head to the war memorial for a wreath-laying ceremony at about 11.30am.
Children from both Millfield and Littleport Community Primary Schools will gather at the war memorial at 11am for a wreath-laying service.
There will be a second service at the Nightall memorial from 11.20am, with representatives from Network Rail.
Everyone is invited to attend a Sunday service in St Andrew’s Church at 10.30am.
This is not a communion service, and is a chance for the village to come together to remember the fallen of two World Wars and the continuing sacrifice of the armed forces.
There will be an act of remembrance at the war memorial at 10.45am.
