TEENAGE driver Dale Knappett told police they had caught him "red handed" when he was discovered driving without insurance or a licence in New Barns Avenue at Ely.

At the city courthouse on Thursday, 19-year-old Knappett, of King George Avenue, Exning, was banned from driving for four months and fined £200 for the insurance offence. He was fined £100 for driving without a licence and another £1,200 after admitting he failed to produce his MoT certificate to police. He must pay court costs of £42.
