Recognition for the volunteers and groups who help Ely City Council

Ely  mayor, Cllr Ian Lindsay, assisted by the Avril Hayter Smith, the Town Crier presented certificates of thanks to those groups and individuals who volunteer and help Ely City Council.

Volunteers and community groups who help support Ely City Council were recognised at a presentation ceremony.

The Maltings was the venue for the event, held at the end of last month, to celebrate the work of volunteers with the mayor Councillor Ian Lindsay assisted by Avril Hayter-Smith, the Town Crier, handing out certificates.

Presentations were made to: Ely’s CCTV team, Ely in Bloom, the Christmas Lights team, including Ely Rotary and Hereward Rotary; Ely Switch-on team; Ely Allotments Assocaition; Mr and Mrs Jones; and the Town Crier.

Certificates were also presented to the American service personnel volunteers who have helped with local projects.
