Old School rave comes to Isleham to raise money for a charity that supports bereaved young people across the UK.

The event rounds up renowned DJs playing drum n bass, rave and jungle for the event called Rave Encounter.

Kevin Wells is one of the patrons of the charity, Grief Encounter, for which the event is raising money.

He said: “It is of course the kind of help we all hope that we will never need to consider.

“Sadly the reality is very much different. I was genuinely overwhelmed when my wife and I found out a charity like Grief Encounter existed and I am now proud to be their Patron.

“The grieving process excludes no-one. Grief Encounter addresses the issues of coping, interacting and nurturing children through bereavement.

“We can’t escape the feelings of loss, but we can embrace the rest of our lives in a positive fashion.”

The night is billed as old skool classics from some of East Anglia’s finest DJ’s.

A spokesman said: “The event has been paid for by sponsors, so all proceeds will be going to the charity Grief Encounter. An amazing cause, supporting young children through bereavement.

“The headliner needs no introduction, Barrington is one of Warning’s finest drum and bass Dj’s, we can’t wait to have him on board.”

Grief Encounter supports children and their families to help ease the pain caused by the death of someone close.

Its services are free, funded through the generosity of supporters.

It was established in 2003 by founder Dr Shelley Gilbert MBE and has support from founding patron, Kevin Wells, alongside some celebrity friends.

In 2015, together with her charity, Shelley began working to raise public understanding of the emotional distress young people experience following a devastating loss.

Her vision is to ensure that every child and young person across the UK receives the correct support, information and advice following the death of a loved one, whether that be at school, at home or with friends and family.
