A Rainbows group from Ely moved a step closer to achieving a new badge following a visit to a supermarket this week.

1st Ely Rainbows attended a talk hosted by Sainsbury’s staff, before touring the Lisle Lane superstore to hunt for Fairtrade products.

The event was organised to tie in with Fairtrade Fortnight, an annual awareness campaign aiming to raise the profile of the Fairtrade Foundation.

Sainsbury’s store manager, Karen Watts, said: “We’re proud to be able to share our knowledge on Fairtrade with our local community and it was great to have 1st Ely Rainbows in store to help them learn more about the wide range of Fairtrade products we sell.”

Each member of the group also took away a goody bag which included some Fairtrade treats, further information about the benefits of buying Fairtrade and an activity pack.
