All rail services between Ely and Downham Market have been cancelled due to ‘damage to overhead electric wires’.
Great Northern Rail say buses are now in operation for anyone using the service and delays are expected for people coming home from work.
Greater Anglia, which is also stopping trains at Waterbeach station, are said to be “conveying passengers via any reasonably route until further notice”.
A spokesman for Great Northern said: “We are advising passengers to complete your journey BEFORE 3pm today.
“While a good service is currently running on most routes, the weather is expected to deteriorate this afternoon and we may be prevented from running services on some routes.”
