Officers investigating a racially-aggravated assault in Ely are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At about 6pm on Thursday, 5 October, a man was assaulted outside a branch of Lloyds Bank in Minster Place. The victim, a man in his 30s, received minor injuries as a result of the incident.

A CCTV image has been released of a man the officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

In a separate incident in June, a Littleport man had three teeth knocked out during a racially aggravated assault.

The victim, who is in his 40s, said he was walking home when a gang of men began shouting racial abuse at him.

He was then robbed of his wallet and other personal belongings before being left badly injured without three teeth and unable to see out of one of eye.
