TWO acts have been announced for the summer season of gigs at Thetford Forest next year.
Status Quo are one of Britain's best-loved rock 'n' roll bands and will celebrate 40 years in the music business in 2008. Francis Rossi and the band have plenty of hits to belt out, and can claim more appearances on Top of the Pops than any other band in history, and more hits (63) than any other. The music industry, although slow to recognise early Quo magic, has rewarded the band with a raft of awards and accolades over the past 30 years, including a coveted Outstanding Contribution to Music Brit.
However, The Quo are probably most famous for their live stage presence and will certainly bring the forest to life on June 7.
Also performing in the forest next summer will be sexy soprano Katherine Jenkins. She will be accompanied by The National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Inglis. The classical superstar will be appearing at the forest on July 12. She is the only singer in musical history to simultaneously hold the Number 1, 2, 3 and 4 positions in the classical album charts. Her new album Rejoice was released last week.
INFO: Status Quo will play High Lodge, Thetford Forest, near Brandon, Suffolk on Saturday, June 7. Tickets are £30 (subject to booking fee) are on sale now from ticket hotline: 01842 814612 or buy on line from www.forestry.gov.uk/music
Katherine Jenkins will appear on July 12 and tickets are £28.50.
