CHILDHOOD sweethearts Doris and Norman Taylor from Pymoor celebrated their Diamond Wedding on December 29.
They first met at Pymoor School and then drifted apart after leaving school. On VE night they met again and have been together since.
The family held a surprise party at Swan House Nursing Home at Chatteris, where Doris is cared for after suffering a stroke.
Doris and Norman were delighted to have received a telegram from the Queen as well as many cards and flowers.
Doris and Norman have two children, Nigel and Wendy, grandchildren, Lee, Scott, Craig and Bianca. A new addition, their great grandson George, who is seven months old.
