PEOPLE in Littleport will be able to piece together the past thanks to a new archaeology service.

Jigsaw is a Cambridgeshire-wide community project organising Living History events, talks and workshops which give young people the chance to touch thousand year-old objects found metres from where they live. Appointed community archaeologists will then train an archaeology warden for each parish who will piece together archaeology finds in the area and post them on a central Cambridgeshire website.

Jigsaw project manager Stephen Macaulay said: "We have shortlisted 20 pilot areas for the scheme and Littleport is one of these.
