STUDYING the Vikings at school inspired one group of pupils to build their very own longboat!
More than 50 pupils in Year 4 at the Lantern School in Ely were involved in the project, in which they built a longboat out of cardboard and paper, including everything from shields right through to oars.
The boat was so big that all 50 pupils were able to fit inside once it was complete, before it went on show to the rest of the school.
