DELIGHTED youngsters at Ely's King's Acremont Nursery School have produced a bumper crop of vegetables from their school plot.
The children began planting their garden in March and their crop of lettuces were sold for charity, given to the school kitchen for lunches and taken home by the youngsters.
On Tuesday they put on their wellies for the last time and took wheelbarrows to harvest potatoes, sweetcorn and sunflowers.
The potatoes and sweetcorn will be cooked and eaten and the sunflower seeds will be dried and stored to plant again next year.
The children's runner beans have inspired the display the children are working on for harvest festival in Ely Cathedral next month.
