HANSEL and Gretel, one of the best-loved fairy stories by the Brothers Grimm, was given a musical treatment with a modern twist by the youngest pupils in King's Junior School on Wednesday and Thursday.

There were excellent performances from the cast of 70, aged from seven to nine years old, and some fine solos.

Head teacher Tony Duncan said: "The children were magnificent and their performances reflected the high standard of music and drama in junior school.

"The teachers appreciated the support of parents and teachers who made costumes, designed sets and helped behind the scenes for what was a delightful production."
