A WHOLE generation of pupils who went through the Rackham Primary School have the work of teacher Jane Ford to thank for setting them on the path to higher education.
Mrs Ford has been an ever present fixture for reception classes at the primary school for almost 20 years but decided to call time on her career this week, taking her last class on Thursday.
Head teacher Suzanne Carter, said: “Jane was a really valued member of staff because she really became involved in school life. She has been the driving force behind our annual Children in Need fund-raising campaigns and helped to set up the schools non-fiction library as well.”
A special assembly was held for Mrs Ford, who lives in Stretham, on Thursday where she was presented with a book of farewell messages from pupils and staff.
