MP Jim Paice dropped into The Prince Albert pub in Ely on Friday to celebrate Proud of Pubs Week.

Mr Paice, who represents South East Cambridgeshire, is one of a number of MPs visiting publics during the national celebration organised by The Publican magazine.

He met licensee Michael Hunt and his staff and learned more about the contribution the pub makes to the city.

He said: "Pubs are a great British institution and very often the social centre of local communities.

"I am delighted to support Proud of Pubs Week and celebrate the positive contribution a good 'local' makes to community life.
