ELY man Andrew Dunn is charged with possessing an offensive weapon in the form of a wood truncheon.
Dunn, 25, of New Barns Avenue, appeared before city magistrates on Thursday, when his case was adjourned for two weeks.
It is alleged he had the truncheon in New Barns Road on March 22 without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.
He is further accused of stealing a pair or trainers from Gilesports in Ely on March 22.
