More than 27 years after purchasing the Carpenters Arms pub in Brook Street, in Soham, Jenny and Allan Killick have sold the popular venue, well known for its selection of real ales.
The new owner will not be unfamiliar to regulars as he is the Killick’s son, Matt, who will be running the free house with partner Ali Seymour.
Ali and Matt will be welcoming old and new customers for a ‘pub warming’ on Saturday, November 30, when there will be live music with singer Christie Harrison and a hog roast any profits from which will be donated to the Soham Scouts.
Ali and Matt intend that the pub will carry on much as now with pool and darts teams but with the addition of regular live music each month.
They also intend to update the kitchen in the new year so that they can offer food and snacks. Matt, who has appeared on BBC’s Bargain Hunt selling items to the competitors intends to continue with his dealing by exhibiting some of his stock in the pub.
