THE third South Neighbourhood Panel meeting for Soham and the surrounding villages has set police priorities.

These are; anti-social behaviour and crime on the Barleyfields Estate, speeding across the neighbourhood, targeted at rush hours, specifically between 7.30 and 9.30am and 4.30-6.30pm and parking across the neighbourhood at specific locations, particularly during the school run period.

Previous priorities have also focused on speeding and parking. We have tried to hit this hard, and in the past two months conducted 25 speed checks in the Soham area, issued 12 speeding tickets, reported 12 vehicles for having no road tax and have issued over 50 parking tickets.

If this is a priority for you, please come to the next meeting at Fordham Village Hall on June 20, at 7pm.

The South Neighbourhood Team has also had some changes this month.

PC Wayne Davies has moved to Cambridge from the Burwell beat and, in the interim, PC Neil Evans has taken over. Neil has been the community beat manager for the Cheveley Beat for the past two years and will continue to cover this area in addition to Burwell and surrounding villages.

Police community support officer Gaynor Foster has moved on from the Fordham and Isleham villages to Parkside, where she is now patrolling in Cambridge. New PCSOs for Fordham and Isleham villages are due to start in East Cambridgeshire at the end of April.

PCSO Emma Melton has finished her training and is now covering Soham with PCSO Kieran Moran. PCSO Amy Griffin has also joined the team and will join Stuart Thorburn in the Burwell/Bottisham area once she has finished initial training.
