Police seek witnesses to alleged sex assault

DETECTIVES investigating an alleged sexual assault on an 18-year-old woman are appealing for more information.

The assault is reported to have happened in the early hours of Tuesday, October 16, in Beresford Road, Ely.

The assault is reported to have happened in the early hours of Tuesday, October 16, in Beresford Road, Ely.

Officers would particularly like to speak to anyone who saw an altercation between a man and a woman that is believed to have taken place in the area at the time and could be connected to the assault.

A police spokesman said: "Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the Beresford Road area at the time this assault is reported to have taken place.

"A man and woman seen arguing may or may not be connected with the sexual assault but anyone who saw this altercation taking place should also contact police."
