POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after an early morning fight in Ely city centre. Officers believe the incident between three women and a man may have been racially motivated. The fight, which was witnessed by members of the public and taxi drivers, broke out near the taxi rank in Market Street on Saturday, November 25, around 2am. Ely Police detective constable, John Yore, said: "There were a number of people who saw this incident and we are anxious to speak to anyone who may be able to help with our inquiries.
"We would also like to contact anyone who was in the area of Market Street or Newnham Street at this time who may be able to offer information."
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed until next March.
