No further action will be taken against a 73-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the murder of missing Ely landlady Deborah Steel.
The man, from Ely, was arrested last year after Cambridgeshire police’s major crime investigation unit decided to review the case.
He answered bail on Monday and was subsequently released without charge by officers.
Two other men who were arrested in connection with the murder of Ms Steel were released without charge earlier in the year.
The pair, aged 50 and 70, were told they would face no further action by officers when they answered bail at March police station.
During the investigation into the murder, police have excavated the patio area outside the Royal Standard pub, in Fore Hill, and dug up the garden of a property in Ely.
Ms Steel, 37, was the landlady of the Royal Standard, when she disappeared on December 28, 1997.
Her body has not been found, despite repeated appeals from police and from her family.
