POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a van and tools were stolen from a factory near Ely.

Three offenders broke into a premises at the Elean Business Park in Sutton between 4pm on New Year's Day and 6am the following day.

After searching a number of rooms a quantity of tools were stolen, along with a Citroen Berlingo van.

The vehicle was later found burnt out on a concrete pad in High Road, Little Downham.

DC Kevin Sutcliffe, who is investigating, said: "The offenders entered and left the factory site through some large metal gates at the front.

"I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area. I would also like to know if anyone spotted the Citroen Berlingo parked on the concrete pad in High Road, and if so, was any other vehicle parked near it?"
