Police Appeal For Help After Attempted Robbery On 85-Year-Old Woman

POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery on a footpath in Paddock Street, Soham on Thursday, November 26.

POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery on a footpath in Paddock Street, Soham on Thursday, November 26.

The incident was reported to police on November 30.

At 5.30pm two men jumped out in front of an 85-year-old woman on the path near to the duck pond.

One of the men searched her coat pockets and the other kept watch along the path.

After finding nothing in her coat pockets the man punched her and they both ran away. The victim suffered slight injuries in the attack.

The first man is described as aged around 20, six foot and stocky. He was wearing a dark long sleeved hooded top, dark trousers and a dark scarf covering his face.

The second man is described as aged around 16, 5'2" and slim. He was wearing a dark hooded top and jeans.

DC Gary Loth investigating said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the robbery or these two men in the area at the time.

"This was a nasty attack on a vulnerable woman and any information, no matter how small, could help to bring the offenders to justice."
