AT least 250 was raised for Little Downham Village Hall funds, when former village head teacher Paul Quant launched his new book in the village on Sunday afternoon.
The book, called The Lookout Post, is a collection of poetry inspired by Victorian and Edwardian characters depicted in old photographs.
About 50 people attended the drinks reception and afternoon tea launch event, when Paul signned and sold books, and there was a second hand book sale.
Paul’s wife Patti, who is chairman of the village hall committee, said: “The event went very well indeed, and we had some superb feedback. It was a really lovely afternoon, with a real community feel.”
