SOHAM man James Seal won the award for best ploughman under the age of 21 at this year's national ploughing championships at Loseley Park near Guildford. The event incorporated young farmers' classes for ploughmen up to the ages of 21 and 26. James, aged 18, won the class for younger competitors using his own 1938 Fordson tractor and trailing plough, a contrast to some of the ultra modern machinery of some of his competitors.
James is pictured receiving his trophy from Michael More-Molyneux.
