CAMBRIDGESHIRE and Peterborough Minerals and Waste plan was discussed with particular attention to an inert waste infil site located on the former Mepal Airport. Of particular concern to councillors were lorries travelling through the village and by the primary school. Also, leakage from the infil site to Bury Lane and the important SSSI site in the nearby Washes. A representative from Cambridgeshire County Council outlined the waste management proposal for the Mepal Airfield site and stated that all comments must be received by December 18.
