LITTLEPORT'S sports people have been given a helping hand by the district council.
The all-weather pitches at Littleport Leisure Centre are to be revamped and the initial district council grant awarded in March last year has been doubled to £15,000.
Councillor Fred Brown, sitting on the community services committee, requested that the grant be ring-fenced so it cannot be used to bail out the leisure centre's ailing finances.
