A photographer took to the skies as fire crews tackled a blaze affecting a three-acre stubble field on the outskirts of an East Cambs village.
Crews from Littleport and Ely were called to Black Bank Road, Little Downham, at 6.30pm on Friday. About three acres of stubble was on fire and smoke was blowing across the road.
A fire service spokesman said: “Firefighters used four hose reels to extinguish the fire and temporarily closed the road for the safety of crew working at the incident and for drivers.
“Crews returned to their stations by 8.46pm.
“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
Terry Pearce, of Ely, who runs Proimage Photography, took these photos of the smoke billowing into the sky.
He said: “We flew over this stubble field fire and photographed the scene from about 700ft.”
