On Wednesday, the meeting of the Phoenix Club was well attended and Jannice Kinnear welcomed everyone and gave out the notices. A letter of thanks for a donation of £50 to the British Wireless for the Blind Fund was read out. Unfortunately, the speaker did not arrive so a competition was organised by Jannice, followed by a quiz. Janet Gill read a selection of humorous poetry by Steve Turner. The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 14, when the speaker will be Christopher South. Members all welcome 9.30am for 10am start, £1.50p includes raffle and coffee and biscuits.
