A cheque for more than £16,780 raised by a charity in memory of an Ely biker was presented to the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
Phil’s Ride started in 2016 as a memorial ride for Phil Beeton who lost his life in a crash on the A10 in Southery in October 2015.
Due to the action of the EAAA, they were instrumental in saving Phil’s nephew’s life by airlifting Jack to Addenbrokes Hospital.
Over the last three years the charity has raised and donated over £35,000 to the EAAA.
The money raised from this year’s fundraising – which included an annual motorcycle ride – was presented at the charity’s wrap party at The Old White Bell in Southery on Friday October 26.
On the previous Friday (October 19), Dan from KJ Entertainments attended the venue, along with his balloon modelling kit and kept the children entertained as part of an auction prize won by Kimmy McCalister from the main event in August.
Dan had made a special model for the charity and presented it to them on the evening.
On the morning of Friday October 26, five representatives from the Phil’s Ride team attended the EAAA hanger at Norwich airport for a tour and presented the helicopter balloon model to the crew.
