A NEW youth centre opened in Littleport on Saturday.
Youth worker Phil Malkin and a band of volunteers have transformed the former medical centre on Granby Street.
The centre includes air hockey and table tennis facilities, a Playstation video games room, arts and crafts rooms and a music room.
Mr Malkin said: "We are also looking to start up clubs for model-making and photography and we are happy to hear from anyone who wants to come in and talk to us about ideas for the centre."
The centre has been paid for by the volunteers' fund-raising activities, sponsorship from local businesses and some of Mr Malkin's own money.
He said: "It's been a lot of hard work and we're all really happy that it's finally opened now. At the end of the day, I just want to give the kids what they want, because there hasn't been too much for them to do in Littleport."
